House Manager

Location: Columbus, OH
Salary Range: $9.50 – $11/hour
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt
Type: Full Time

Description:

We are seeking for an ICF/MR/SL experienced House Manager to support individuals with developmental disabilities in supportive living community settings. The Manager will be responsible for the daily organization and operation of services to the consumers within assigned supported living locations. Ultimately, the Manger will provide direct support to consumers and will support Program Coordinator in day-to-day oversight of home operations. The Manager will have a primary schedule but flexibility is required to work various day, evening, and weekend shifts as require.

Duties:

Documentation

  • Review written program documentation and Billable Services at each site visit.
  • Check Incident reports for content and notification before submitting to the Manager.
  • Monitor Residential Daily Service record to ensure that attendance and movement is documented daily and appropriately.
  • Monitor Personal Possessions and Update Clothing, and Resident Monthly meeting documentation.
  • Monitor task sheet duties for completion and report issues to Manager.

Financial

  • Completes regular audits on financial ledgers and verifies accuracy.
  • Completes assigned Cost to Live duties.
  • Collect documents and receipts needed for JDFS to maintain individuals Food stamps.
  • Review all grocery and gas receipts before submittal to the Program Coordinator.
  • Complies and prepares receipts for processing Individual Reimbursements.
  • Ensures all receipts are turned into the Program Coordinator.
  • Assists Program Coordinator with individuals spend downs, as necessary.

Scheduling

  • Completes weekly site schedule with the Program Coordinator.
  • Ensures that work schedules are available and posted in the home.
  • Works open hours when not able to fill open shifts.
  • Participates in the Residential Coordinator On-Call rotation.

Health Care

  • Ensures doctor’s appointments are completed and all necessary information and documentation is given to the team.
  • Checks Medication Administration on site visits to ensure documentation is being completed properly.
  • Reviews Medication Count Sheets weekly and all medications are in the facility and stored properly.
  • Monitors the supply of medical supplies.
  • Communicates with the Manager (Nurse, if applicable) weekly to discuss upcoming medical appointments or concerns.
  • Updates Emergency Red folders monthly.

Household Management

  • Writes Maintenance Request reports as needed and relays in pertinent site needs.
  • Ensures that physical environment is safe, clean and attractive.
  • Ensures Direct Care staff tasks sheets are completed.
  • Completes general home inspections weekly.
  • Monitors monthly pull stations, disaster kits, smoke alarms, and weekly water temperatures.
  • Ensures Fire Drills/Safety and Emergency Responses and Tornado Drills are completed as required.
  • Monitors Van maintenance and logs.

Purchases

  • Completes shopping for food and cleaning supplies within budget.
  • Completes, submits and shops for purchase orders.

Communication

  • Ensures that the daily individual needs are met and communicated to Manager.
  • Acts as a role model to individuals and direct support staff.
  • Communication with Workshop and Day program to discuss issues or concerns.
  • Completes and submits Limited Programs Specialist and Individual Progress documentation weekly.
  • Informs Manager of incidents, potential home issue or staff issues.
  • Periodically visits Central office to complete necessary paperwork and to facilitate documentation distribution.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings and other required trainings.
  • Completes ADDS

Qualificaitons:

  • Candidates with prior experience, training, or education in a human service, or home
    health care aid preferable
  • Applicants must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Criminal background checks (BCII & FBI – depending on residence in Ohio or other
    states)
  • Complete a pre-employment Physical Examination with Tb-tine test including Drug
    screening
  • Proof of work authorization documentations (Social Security, Permanent Resident Card)
    indicating your ability to work legally in the United States.
  • State of Ohio Abuser Registry and Nurse Registry check if needed.
  • Valid Ohio Drivers License
  • You must have a vehicle while on duty
  • Driving record – with no more than 6 points on your driving record
  • Proof of automobile insurance
  • Proof of training in First Aid & CPR
